Michael J. Fucci’s Path from Consulting to Healthcare Governance
Michael J. Fucci built a distinguished career over 40 years at Deloitte before transitioning to board service at Acadia Healthcare and other companies. His journey from entry-level consultant to executive chairman demonstrates a sustained focus on human capital development and organizational strategy.
Fucci began his career with Deloitte’s predecessor firm in 1981 and played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s human capital business from under $25 million in revenue to more than $1 billion in eight years. He specialized in healthcare merger integration and HR transformation, earning recognition on Consulting Magazine’s “Top 25 Consultants” list for his work with clients and leadership excellence.
Chief Operating Officer Role
Before becoming Executive Chairman, Fucci served as Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Consulting from 2009 to 2015. During this period, he provided operational leadership while continuing to serve clients including Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and the National Retail Federation.
His expertise in talent strategies, succession management, and HR transformation positioned him well for board roles focused on organizational development. After retiring from Deloitte in September 2020, Fucci joined the board of directors at the behavioral health provider the following month.
Board Service Expansion
Mike Fucci currently serves on multiple corporate boards, including Acadia Healthcare and Flotek Industries. Most recently, he joined Conduent’s board in October 2025, bringing his governance expertise to the technology-driven business solutions company. His board service reflects a strategic focus on companies where human capital development and organizational strategy remain central to success.
Fucci earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Montclair State University in New Jersey. He remains active in professional organizations including the National Association of Corporate Board Directors and serves on the board of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
